it's qing ming jie once again and here comes all the burning of joss sticks and paper and the praying for family. think that it's damn polluting to the environment. but still, traditions are traditions and to give it up completely seems very rude to the elderly. both are equally important. =\ guess we would have to find some other ways to cut down on our pollution..?
anyhows. woke up bright [more likely dark, as it was 450] and early. went downstairs and waited for ahyi they all to come. after breakfast and we're on our way to da yi ma's house to pick her up and continue our journey to the chinese cementry at choa chu kang there. the cementry's quite crowded- both by people and by graves. lols :D it's not what i expected. you see, i thought that it would only be a few random graves with wild bushes growing around them. i did not expect to see ROWS and ROWS of graves. goodness. i wouldve taken a picture and uploaded it for you all to see, if ah yi hadnt said that it's disrespectful [and not to mention that you might get more than what you bargained for]. so yeah.. it's quite neat [save for a few that were excavated and its bricks left to crumble]. like what you would see at the cinema/theatre. except that the 'seats' are bigger. grass growing everywhere. there were alot of cars parked all around. but since the place's so big.. yeah.. so we got out all our stuff- the fruits, joss sticks, prayer paper, lighter and 'money'. then all the procedure and stuff like that.. heheh. the burning of the papers was quite scary cause there were no container to burn them all in. =S pretty big fire. quite fun helping.. hmm.. then finished everything and went back to da yi ma's house there to pick up my other two cousins and go to the.. columbarium around bishan there to pray for my grandma and uncle.
then.. hmm yeah. funnily, they are opposite each other. completely coincidental. lols. hmm.. then we went to get a table and put out our praying stuff.. pray finished.. then was looking around and then i saw someone. look very familar. took a closer look at the shoes and realise that it looks like nicholas' shoes.. looked up, hoping for the person to turn around so that can see who it is. holy brocolli- it IS nicholas! lols. [today's a day for coincidences] nice to see him. havent seen him for a long time.. =\ he's coming back on friday though, for prize giving.. hmm.. yeah. then er. ee.. orh.. eh. exchanged a few words before i gotta leave.. then the rest of our conversation carried on to sms. lols. yeah..
so i can safely say that today's 'excursion' an eye-opener for me =]

& a LIFELONG oath of rebellion. 1:00 PM!
